Job summary

Halfords in Glasgow is looking for a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, carry out diagnostics and handle tasks from brakes to suspension within a busy Autocentre. This full-time role includes an uncapped bonus scheme alongside a solid base salary.

You will need a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time‑served experience) and a full driving licence with up to 9 points.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic performing diagnostic work and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Perform more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas like vehicle electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
