Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic for a busy main dealer service department in Bury St. Edmunds. A Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 with 3 years' experience, is required.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with no weekend work by default. Salary up to £42,000 basic plus bonus and OTE; there is progression and site support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
• 3 years' experience with Level 2; or Level 3 qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and technical faults across a range of vehicles.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections and general repair work to manufacturer standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment and information to identify faults and complete repairs.
• Complete video vehicle health checks and provide notes on work completed or recommendations.
• Record all work on job cards and internal systems.
• Work with service advisors and other technicians to deliver a smooth customer experience.
• Keep the workshop clean and compliant with health and safety standards.

Job description

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years' experience, for a busy main dealer service department in Bury St. Edmunds.

Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.

Skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, MOT Tester or Preparation Technician within a dealership, service centre or similar workshop environment.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent automotive qualification, is preferred.
