Job summary

Cadillac Formula 1® Team invites motivated students to join the Vehicle Performance Group for an Industrial Placement. You will work with engineers, run simulations and analyze data to identify performance opportunities and support development decisions.

You'll gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills and contribute to innovative engineering solutions in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in mechanical or automotive engineering or related quantitative field.
• Strong interest in vehicle performance, simulation and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis.
• Analytical and methodical problem-solving with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support offline vehicle simulations, including lap time simulations and setup sweeps.
• Develop, validate and maintain simulation models and post-processing tools.
• Analyze simulation outputs to understand the impact of setup choices and operating conditions on performance.
• Collaborate with engineers across departments to evaluate proposed car updates and setup changes.
• Contribute to pre-event preparation and post-event analysis using simulation data.
• Correlate simulation results with track data and driver-in-loop feedback.
• Participate in factory-based race support activities and performance analyses.
• Support full car rig testing preparation, delivery and analysis.
• Document methods and findings clearly for the wider team.
