The role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll undertake servicing, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of vehicles and electrical equipment, including diagnostics and inspections. You will also carry out equipment examinations to meet production requirements.

Daily responsibilities include ensuring work meets standards and specifications, adhering to customer requirements, regulations, instructions, process plans, and technical publications. You will also ensure proper use of stores and equipment issued to your job.

• Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and associated mechanical or electrical equipment based on your skills and competency.
• Ensure stores and equipment are used correctly, and return unused or faulty materials to the supervisor promptly.
• Create job cards and request materials using the ERP system (SAP) after training.
• Complete vehicle and equipment documentation, test certificates, or reports according to standards.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to pass a medical questionnaire and/or examination as a condition of employment.

This role involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.

This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week, based onsite at Catterick.

Essential experience

• Previous experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience in a dealership or local garage.
• A team player with adaptability and good rapport-building skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Service and Repair.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
