Job description

Offshore Crane Technician

We are seeking several offshore crane technicians to join our client on a permanent basis, working in the offshore, ports, shipping, and oil & gas industries. The position is based in the UK, with work conducted from home on a flying squad basis.

As an offshore crane technician, you will receive full training and work in diverse environments with a wide range of equipment worldwide. The company supports the oil and gas industry and is expanding after securing new global contracts.

Qualifications
  • Apprentice-trained in Electrical, Hydraulic, or Mechanical Engineering
Responsibilities
  • Carry out commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of cranes and lifting equipment both onshore and offshore
  • Perform repairs and inspections on electrical systems and equipment
  • Fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Assist with spares identification and procurement
  • Produce clear, factual reports
  • Rigging and lift planning
  • Ensure compliance with site HSEQ standards
  • Work safely with all site staff to maintain a safe environment
  • Minimize environmental risks and utilize controls offshore
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in the offshore/marine crane industry
  • Commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience working at heights
  • In-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance on offshore cranes
  • BOSIET certification
  • IT literacy and report writing skills
  • UK driving license
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience with marine engineering applications
