Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited is seeking a van courier multi-drop driver to join a depot near Howden, DN14, and support peak cover. You will start at 07:00, work five days out of seven, and load your van while scanning parcels with a smartphone to determine the most efficient route for deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must have a UK licence held for more than 1 year.
• Must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
• No more than 6 minor points.
• No DR, DD or CD endorsements.
• Must have previous multi-drop courier experience.
• Must have a smartphone with NFC function.
• Must be prepared to fulfil historic referencing requirements for the last 2 years.
• Must be prepared to apply for a DBS check if the assignment reaches 13 weeks.
• Must be prepared to work weekends if requested to do so.

Responsibilities

• Start at 07:00, work 5 days out of 7.
• Load van and scan each parcel with smartphone.
• Smartphone app will plan the most efficient delivery route.
• Deliver parcels as required following the route.
• Maintain coverage within the same postcode area where possible.
• Expected parcel volume is 50–80 per day.

Our client is one of the UK's largest commercial Geopost businesses and operate a depot near Howden, DN14.

In anticipation of their annual peak cover we require A VAN COURIER MULTI DROP VAN DRIVER to start on Monday 16th November.

• MUST HAVE A UK LICENCE HELD FOR MORE THAN 1 YEAR.
• MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES.
• NO MORE THAN 6 MINOR POINTS.
• NO DR, DD OR CD ENDORSEMENTS.
• MUST HAVE PREVIOUS MULTI DROP COURIER EXPERIENCE.
• MUST HAVE A SMART PHONE WITH NFC FUNCTION.
• MUST BE PREPARED TO FULLFIL HISTORIC REFERENCING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS
• MUST BE PREPARED TO APPLY FOR A DBS CHECK IF THE ASSIGNMENT REACHES 13 WEEKS
• MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK WEEKENDS IF REQUESTED TO DO SO

The role will require the van courier driver to work any 5 days out of 7 and start work at 07.00 in the morning and load their van scanning each parcel/package with their smart phone as they load. The smart phone app will then work out the most efficient delivery route & order for the parcels on the van. The driver must then follow this route making the deliveries as required. The expected volume of parcels is from 50 to 80. Drivers will be kept in the same postcoded area as much as possible but may be requested to cover other areas if the business needs this.
