Sheffield City Council is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to craft accessible, user‑centred digital experiences for public and internal services. You will work with researchers, designers and developers to turn insights into practical designs and prototypes.

The role emphasizes mobile‑first, WCAG‑compliant interfaces and collaboration across teams to implement design systems and reusable patterns. Flexible working options may be available.

Qualifications

• UX/UI design across the end‑to‑end user journey.
• Planning and delivering evidence‑based user‑centred design.
• Creating concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity designs.
• Designing responsive, mobile‑first interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Design user‑centred digital experiences that are simple, intuitive and accessible.
• Use research, analytics and stakeholder feedback to improve user journeys and interfaces.
• Turn concepts, user flows and wireframes into polished, implementation‑ready designs.
• Design mobile‑first responsive interfaces that work across desktop and other devices.
• Design services that meet public sector accessibility requirements, including for assistive technology users.
• Apply design systems, components and style guidelines consistently.
• Work with user researchers, developers and service teams from design through to implementation.
• Lead UX/UI improvement projects across websites, intranets, internal systems and digital services.
• Contribute to design systems, component libraries, design standards and reusable patterns
