About the role
We're seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Strategist to join our award-winning User Research and Experimentation team within the Digital and Ecommerce department. This role focuses on maximizing the value derived from conducting extensive experiments and user research. As our Strategist, you'll employ a mixed methods approach to analyze and interpret insights from large-scale A/B testing and smaller UX research studies. You will be part of our UX Research team, confident discussing user research, though not necessarily conducting primary research (as specialists handle that). Your comfort with data—primarily working with spreadsheets and dashboards—will aid teams in making informed decisions to improve customer experience and partnership outcomes. If you are passionate about user research and data analysis and eager to influence experimentation and conversion optimization at John Lewis, we want to hear from you.

Target salary - up to 60k

Working pattern/flexible working - Our hybrid approach allows you to work both from home and the office, with an expectation of 1-2 days in the office weekly for team connection.

Location - London Head Office, Pimlico.

Essential skills/experience
  • Strong understanding of data analysis methods, including statistical techniques, with proficiency in spreadsheets.
  • Experience with large-scale A/B testing, understanding its advantages and limitations for decision-making.
  • Knowledge of user research methods and their application to digital product improvement.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements and present insights, influencing decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to varied audiences.
Desirable skills/experience
  • Experience working in an agile environment on fast-paced digital projects.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets related to digital customer behavior and e-commerce.
  • Understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization principles.
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Adobe, Google Analytics, ContentSquare, etc.
