Job summary

Leaders in Care is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support patients redirected from A&E into an urgent primary-care pathway in Redditch and Worcester. You’ll work with GPs and clinical colleagues, delivering phlebotomy, ECGs and basic observations across a six-month, regular shift pattern.

You must be available for at least three shifts per week, with evenings and weekend options. EMIS experience and phlebotomy/venepuncture competency are essential, along with NEWS2 awareness and

Qualifications

• Experience using EMIS and documenting clinical notes accurately.
• Phlebotomy/venepuncture competency verified.
• ECG recording competency demonstrated.
• Strong understanding of NEWS2, deterioration and escalation.
• Experience in basic wound care and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Carry out phlebotomy and venepuncture.
• Complete ECG recordings.
• Take and document full clinical observations.
• Use NEWS2 to recognise deterioration and escalate promptly.
• Provide basic wound care where appropriate.
• Maintain clear electronic patient records.
