Job summary

The Salaried General Practitioner will join the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).

The UTC is co-located within the Emergency Department at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital, working with Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Emergency Nurse Practitioners to deliver primary medical services to patients referred from ED, 111 or self-referred.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• A fully qualified GP with current and full GMC registration with no restrictions on practice; registered on a Local NHS England performers List.
• Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role e.g. MRCGP or MBBS equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Review health care needs of patients with undifferentiated problems suitable for primary care.
• Work with the ED and UTC team to provide safe, effective and timely care.
• Provide cross-cover for colleagues to ensure adequate staffing and service delivery.
