Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is recruiting a Salaried General Practitioner to join the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) team within the Emergency Centre, co-located at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital. You will provide primary medical care to patients referred from ED, 111 or self-refer, and work closely with nurses, clinicians and other services.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• A fully qualified GP with current and full registration with the GMC with no restrictions on practice.
• Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role e.g. MRCGP, MBBS or equivalent.
• Desirable: Additional higher education demonstrating skills in an urgent treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems suitable for primary care.
• Work as part of the ED and UTC team to provide safe, effective and timely care to patients.
• Provide cross cover for colleagues to ensure adequate staffing and safe delivery of the service.
• Demonstrate clinical competencies and supervise/train junior colleagues as required.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed with clinical teams and commissioners.
