Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for a Salaried General Practitioner to join the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) team based in the Emergency Centre at Shrewsbury and Telford sites. The UTCs support patients with minor illness and injury, working closely with ED, primary care, and other services.

The post holder will provide evidence-based primary medical care to patients referred from ED, 111 or self-referral, and will work within the UTC alongside the wider ED team,

Responsibilities

• Review health care needs of patients with undifferentiated problems suitable for primary care.
• Work with the ED/UTC team to provide safe, effective and timely care to patients.
• Provide cross-cover for colleagues to ensure adequate staffing and safe delivery of the service.
