Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for a Salaried General Practitioner to join the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) team. Based within the Emergency Centre at SaTH, you will provide primary medical care to patients presenting with minor illness or injury, collaborating with nurses, ED staff and other services.

You will work alongside the UTC/ED team, reviewing clinical needs, delivering evidence-based care, and supervising junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and assessing health care needs of patients with undifferentiated problems suitable for primary care.
• Work with ED and UTC teams to provide safe, effective and timely care.
• Supervise and train junior colleagues to develop clinical skills as required.
• Support UTC Lead to ensure UTC policies are up-to-date and staff comply with policies.
• Perform assessment of patient needs, plan and implement clinical treatment.
• Access diagnostics including bloods, ECGs and X-Rays.
• Develop enhanced clinical skills in managing acutely ill patients.
• Demonstrate excellent team-working in a multi-professional environment.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed with clinical teams and commissioners.
• Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
