Job summary

Cookley Sebright Primary School near Kidderminster is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. The role initially supports Year 6 pupils, with a focus on the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum, and includes 2.5 hours per week in our Breakfast Club.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging activities, support children with SEND, and help them prepare for secondary school, in a nurturing, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Commitment to helping children reach their potential in a child-centred environment.
• Experience or familiarity with Upper Key Stage 2 is advantageous.
• Experience or interest in supporting children with SEND, with support provided.

Responsibilities

• Have understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly Upper Key Stage 2.
• Work with the class teacher to plan, adapt and deliver engaging learning opportunities.
• Support all children to achieve their best academically, socially and emotionally.
• Support children with SEND, particularly learning and speech and language needs.
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility and a nurturing approach.
• Use initiative while working effectively as part of a team.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents.
• Hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
