Job summary

CareerMakers Recruitment in Morley is seeking an Upholsterer to build and upholster seating from start to finish. You will work with wood frames, foam, fabrics and foam cutters to ensure precise finishes and quality control.

Role requires reading measurements and production specs, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team. Monday–Friday, 8am–4.30pm, pay £15.50–£16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to build and upholster seating from start to finish.
• Experience with wood, foam, webbing, and upholstery fabrics.
• Ability to read measurements, templates, drawings, and basic production specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Reliable attendance and ability to meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wooden manufactured seat frames using drawings
• Measure, cut and install foam
• Measure, cut, sew, stretch, and attach upholstery fabric.
• Create smooth, properly aligned finishes with consistent seams, patterns, corners, and edges.
• Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, staplers, foam cutters, and sewing machines.
• Inspect frames, cushioning, and finished upholstery for quality and correct defects when needed.
• Follow production schedules while maintaining workmanship and efficiency.
• Keep tools, materials, and the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures.

Monday to Friday: 8am to 4.30pm
