Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited, on behalf of a client in the aerospace sector, is seeking a Manufacturing Operative in the Upholstery department in Southend-on-Sea. You will cut parts, assemble kits and maintain quality.

The role is permanent full-time, with a pay rate of £14.19 per hour, and hours Monday-Thursday, plus Friday, totaling 39 hours weekly. We value attention to detail, teamwork and adherence to safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Upholstery.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Competence with small hand tools such as scissors and knives.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Foam building/shaping experience and reading drawings are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Cut parts per drawings to assemble kits.
• Ensure highest product quality.
• Bond components using adhesives.
• Maintain traceability per guidelines.
• Dress sewn covers for cushions.
• Promote safety procedures.
• Perform rework as directed by management or inspection.

Join one of our clients, a leading player in the aerospace industry, as a Manufacturing Operative, in the Upholstery department. Contribute to maintaining product standards and be part of innovation in aerospace.

Role: Manufacturing Operative - Upholstery

Location: Southend-On-Sea

Pay rate: £14.19 an hour DOE

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm 8am-1pm Fridays (39 hours per week)

Permanent, full time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut parts according to drawings, templates, and instructions to create kits.
• Ensure the highest product quality.
• Use adhesives to bond various parts together.
• Maintain traceability by following guidelines and instructions.
• Dress sewn covers for cushion assembly.
• Promote and adhere to safety procedures.
• Perform necessary rework as directed by Management or Inspection.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in Upholstery.
• Proficiency in working within a Manufacturing environment.
• Competence in utilizing small hand tools such as scissors and knives.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle tasks effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Having an experience of foam building/shaping, as well as ability to read drawings is desirable, but not essential.
