Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd client is a well-established manufacturer seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join their busy factory in Pontefract. This is a permanent, full-time role with Monday-Thursday 7:00–16:30 and Friday 7:00–11:00.

You will upholster furniture from frame to finish, use staple guns and drills, and ensure high-quality finishes. The salary is £14.85 per hour plus monthly bonuses (£40–£110) and discretionary twice-yearly bonuses.

Qualifications

• Over a year's recent experience in furniture upholstery.
• Solid knowledge of upholstery techniques including cutting, padding, and finishing.
• Ability to use upholstery tools and machinery safely.
• Good attention to detail with high-quality finishes.
• Strong problem solving for complex or bespoke pieces.
• Good time management and deadline adherence.

Responsibilities

• Upholster furniture from frame to finish.
• Use staple guns, drills and hand tools to manufacture pieces.
• Read and follow upholstery specifications and drawings.
• Repair or re-upholster existing furniture.
• Ensure work meets high-quality standards and deadlines.

Job description

Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Upholsterer to work in their busy factory. This is a permanent, full time role.

• Ability to use upholstery tools and machinery safely and correctly.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality finishes.
• Strong problem solving ability when working with complex or bespoke pieces.
• Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Salary: £14.85 per hour + Bonus (circa £40 - £110 a month depending on performance), also discretionary twice annual bonus based on overall company performance.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 7.00am - 11.00am

Breaks: One 30-minute break (paid), two 15-minute breaks (unpaid)

Responsibilities

• To Upholster various items of furniture from the frame up to finished items.
• Use a variety of tools such as staple guns & drills, in addition to hand tools to manufacture a wide range of furniture.
• Read and follow upholstery specifications, drawings, and production instructions.
• Repair or re-upholster existing furniture when required.
• To complete work to a high-quality standard, whilst meeting deadlines.
• To work with the production team to achieve the production schedule.
