We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable individuals who are confident working with children and want to make a positive difference in the classroom.
We welcome applications from candidates who have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals. Your previous experience could be highly transferable to a school environment.
You may have previously worked as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Carer, Youth Worker, Childcare Practitioner, Nursery Practitioner, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, Mentor, Healthcare Assistant or in another role involving children or young people.
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils with their learning and classroom activities
Providing one-to-one and small-group support
Helping pupils understand and complete learning tasks
Supporting children with SEND and additional needs
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills
Supporting positive behaviour within the classroom
Helping pupils remain focused and engaged during lessons
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
Providing emotional and pastoral support where required
Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
Supporting pupils with their individual learning and developmental needs
Helping create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
Working effectively as part of a wider school team
Supporting the teacher with the smooth running of the classroom
No formal Teaching Assistant qualification is required
Must be based in High Wycombe or willing to commute to High Wycombe
Available to work 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
A caring, patient and supportive approach
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Confident working with children and young people
Able to build positive relationships with pupils
Reliable, professional and committed
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Willing to learn and develop within a school environment
Experience supporting individuals with SEND or additional needs is advantageous but not essential
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
