Job summary

Oakland Care in Lambwood Heights, Chigwell, is recruiting an experienced Unit Manager to lead a care unit and inspire a dedicated team. You will ensure high-quality, person-centred care, manage staffing, and uphold CQC standards while building strong relationships with residents, families and colleagues.

This permanent, days-based role offers 40 hours per week, a salary of £35,000 per annum, and a supportive environment with ongoing development and recognition within a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior care position (e.g. Unit Manager, Senior Nurse, Senior Carer or similar).
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and maintain high standards in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the unit, ensuring consistently high standards of person-centred care.
• Leading, motivating, and developing a committed care team.
• Ensuring care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date, and truly reflect residents’ needs.
• Managing staffing levels, rotas, and shift coordination effectively.
• Maintaining full compliance with CQC regulations, policies, and best practice.
• Acting as a visible role model, promoting excellence in care.
• Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing staff development.
• Building strong relationships with residents, families, senior management, and external professionals.
