Job summary

InPost UK is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager for the Middleton/ Preston area to lead and optimise daily despatch operations. You will drive a high-performing team, manage budgets, and ensure KPI targets are met while maintaining strong safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in driving continuous improvement of operations.
• Knowledge of Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
• Strong Health & Safety compliance experience.
• Demonstrated leadership with high-performing teams.
• Experience in budgets, KPI development and performance measurement.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the daily management and supervision of the despatch operation.
• Lead, support, and develop the operational team to achieve high performance and continuous growth.
• Ensure the operation exceeds customer expectations and adheres to contract KPIs.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers.
• Oversee operational compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Regional and Depot Managers to meet performance targets.
• Coordinate training and development programs to enhance staff skills.
• Optimise use of driver and vehicle resources to meet demand.
• Foster positive relationships with customers for smooth operations.
• Collect and report on operational and financial performance data to identify improvements.
