Salary: £45,000 + car allowance + bonus potential

UK Transport Manager

Reporting to the Operations Director, the newly created UK Transport Manager position will play a key role in CHH's successful service delivery to its growing UK customer base. The successful candidate can be based within easy commute from either Birmingham or Chesterfield.

Key Duties Will Include

1. Managing a team of drivers across multiple sites within CHH's distribution network
2. Supervising shipments and scheduling routes across the UK from Birmingham and Chesterfield sites
3. Planning operations and managing overhead and personnel requirements
4. Managing staff involved in transportation activities such as dispatching, routing, and tracking
5. Monitoring transportation costs and maintaining records, license checks, and training
6. Coordinating assets and operations for transportation
7. Ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and always fit for purpose
8. Ensuring drivers act in accordance with all legislation
9. Managing key contacts within our customer base
10. Identifying areas of improvement and implementing strategies
11. Monitoring and auditing Health & Safety compliance, creating and implementing risk assessments and safe systems of work
12. Producing and presenting KPIs—setting and measuring financial and operational improvements

Essential Skills And Attributes

• Candidates MUST have recent experience in a Transport Manager capacity and hold a CPC
• Strong understanding of legal compliance, drivers' hours, and WTD
• Highly organised and efficient
• IT literate and capable of using data for reporting and decision-making
• Experienced in managing customer relationships
• Proven leadership and people development skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Agile problem-solving abilities to provide appropriate solutions quickly
