Job Title: Transport Manager - GAS Business
Reynolds Logistics, a leading European haulier in the fuels and speciality chemicals industry with over 85 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Transport Manager for our UK GAS business. This role offers a unique opportunity for a professional to lead our operations and progress into a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the transport of gases, ensuring sufficient resources are in place.
- Collaborate with the Gas customer and business development teams to produce detailed resource plans for all gas workstreams.
- Recruit and arrange training for drivers to meet customer needs, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to safety, legal, and environmental regulations, including drivers' hours, working time, license checks, ADR requirements, vehicle maintenance, and spill management.
- Lead the driving team based at Magna Park and support remote/satellite depots.
- Participate in customer contract review meetings and report on contractual KPIs.
- Monitor transport budgets and prepare financial reports.
- Coordinate with clients to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments regularly.
- Ensure driver compliance with Tablet (ePOD) usage and pre-start checks.
- Investigate incidents and accidents promptly.
- Hold disciplinary hearings as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
- Handle transport-related emergencies effectively.
- Support business development with new inquiries.
- Implement initiatives from the Reynolds 5-year Safety Plan.
- Ensure the Out of Hours team has sufficient information to support drivers and contracts.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in transport management, particularly with fuels, gases, and hazardous goods.
- International CPC certification.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally.
- Strong IT skills, including office and bespoke software.
