Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD seeks a commercially minded General Manager to lead the UK business, reporting to the Group and steering growth in a mature market. You will join a stable team, benefit from a strong handover, and drive customer engagement throughout the sales cycle.

The role emphasises leadership of a multi-functional team, strategic market expansion, and operational excellence across inventory, logistics, and assembly. Occasional international travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Commercially minded business leader with ability to develop and grow sales in an SME environment.
• Expert in client management and networking with senior industry professionals to generate new business.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams and reports.
• Proven track record managing a multi-million-pound P&L.
• Genuine enthusiasm for SME environment and hands-on leadership across many hats.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all leadership elements for the business (Full P&L circa £10m t/o) including coaching and motivating.
• Work with and develop the team of direct and indirect reports, mentoring and supporting them.
• Carry out regular market analysis to monitor competition and indicators affecting the business.
• Drive into new market focus areas and maximise growth opportunities; ensure operational excellence.
• Lead inventory, logistics, and assembly teams to optimize operations.
