Job summary

ALS Recruiting Ltd is seeking a National Sales Manager for Freight & Logistics in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on leading a UK-wide sales team, recruiting and training, and actively pursuing new business across Ocean, Air and Road freight as well as warehousing and SCM services.

You will work with Product Managers and Operations teams to ensure service excellence, own the sales pipeline, and drive growth with uncapped bonuses, a company-car/allowance, and private medical insurance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years demonstrable experience in a Sales Manager or Senior Business Development Manager role within UK Freight or Logistics.
• Currently employed by a Freight Forwarder or Logistics provider in the UK (applications from others will not be considered).
• Experience leading a sales team across the UK and developing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a sales team and drive performance.
• Develop and manage sales pipeline; identify and source new leads.
• Sell Freight Transport modes (Air, Ocean, Road) and develop strategies to win new business.
• Create and implement sales strategies to meet annual targets.
• Build relationships with customers, onboard new clients, and coordinate with Operations to ensure service levels.
• Collaborate with Operations and Product teams to support customers.
• Maintain up-to-date information in CRM/Sales Management System.
• Recruit and develop the sales team across the UK.

Opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager or Senior Business Development Manager looking for the next step, to join an award winning and globally recognised Freight and Logistics Service Provider who are looking to add a Sales Manager to help drive the business forward in 2026-2027. My client specialises within Ocean, Air and Road Freight as well as Warehousing and Supply Chain Management Services.

You will be working with and have the support of experienced Product Managers and Operational teams to provide the necessary support. This core role will focus on leading a sales team based across the UK. You will be responsible for recruitment and training as well as hands on within a new business focused role, identifying, sourcing, developing and securing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Leading a sales team

• Actively selling all modes of Freight Transport, Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Road Freight
• Developing sales strategies to ensure the team is winning new business to achieve agreed annual targets
• Developing relationships with customers, on boarding, and working with Operations team to ensure successful service within agreed SOPs, meeting customers expectations
• Working collaboratively with Operational and Product teams
• Updating and ensuring all relevant information is captured within CRM/ Sales Management System
• Recruitment and development of sales team across the whole of the UK

Qualifications

Over 5 years demonstrable experience in a Sales Manager role or Senior Business Development Manager position with a focus on New Business Development working for a Freight or Logistics provider within the UK.
