Job summary

Clifton Search is seeking a UK-based senior solicitor to lead as the sole counsel for a newly acquired part of the group. You will own all legal matters for the unit and negotiate complex international contracts across a global customer base.

The role requires hands-on, flexible leadership experience within a software/tech environment, including SaaS/IaaS/PaaS licensing and data protection compliance. US experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Solicitor with senior/lead experience.
• International experience in a Software/Tech environment.
• UK-based with hands-on, flexible approach.
• US experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising, negotiating and leading on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead experience with international contracts, or contracts under foreign laws and jurisdiction.
• Robust negotiation skills, especially for high-value contracts with customers.
• Experience of software licensing contracts, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS.
• Lead on privacy and consumer protection law compliance initiatives.
• AI/ML regulatory strategy and IP portfolio management.
