Job summary

Clifton Search in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Sole Counsel to lead the legal function for a newly acquired part of the group. The role is highly autonomous, reporting to the CEO, and involves collaboration with colleagues and customers across a global, borderless business.

You will manage full legal responsibilities, handle commercial contracts, and oversee licensing (SaaS/IaaS/PaaS), data protection, privacy compliance, and IP management in an international context.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Solicitor with senior level/lead experience.
• International experience in a Software/Tech environment.
• UK based, hands-on and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising and negotiating and leading on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead experience of international contracts or contracts subject to foreign laws and jurisdiction.
• Robust negotiation skills in high-value customer contracts.
• Experience of software licensing contracts, SaaS/IaaS/PaaS.
• Lead compliance management related to privacy and consumer protection laws.
• AI/ML regulatory strategy and IP portfolio management.
