Job summary

Clifton Search is seeking a UK-based Senior Sole Counsel to lead the legal function for a newly acquired software/tech entity. The role is highly autonomous, reporting to the CEO and interfacing with global teams and customers, with responsibility for international contracts, licensing, data protection and regulatory strategy.

• UK-qualified solicitor with senior/lead experience.
• International software/tech sector experience.
• UK-based; hands-on, flexible approach.
• US experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising and negotiating and leading on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead experience of international contracts or contracts subject to foreign laws and jurisdiction.
• Robust negotiation skills for high-value contracts with customers.
• Experience with software licensing contracts (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
• Lead compliance on privacy and consumer protection laws.
• AI/ML regulatory strategy
