A government security agency in Greater London is seeking a National Covert Enabling Advisor (Technology) to support the HUMINT capability in tackling technological threats. The role involves overseeing covert technical operations, providing policy governance, and liaising with various partners to enhance covert operational effectiveness. Information about the Role
The CTP Undercover (UC) National Covert Enabling advisor/Technology role will deliver enhanced assurance that the HUMINT capability is set up to succeed. Supporting the National HUMINT Unit’s (NHU) increased delivery requirements in meeting new business areas whilst continuing to deliver activity against diversifying CT demands. Ensuring continued world class collaboration and that our delivery teams are best prepared for new and emerging risks. The post will play a critical role in CTPs continued success in delivering covert operations under the PURSUE pillar of HMGs CONTEST strategy. This role is specifically focussed on supporting the capability to overcome new technological threats across the rapidly evolving technology, artificial intelligence and digital data environment.
Key Tasks
The Covert Technology role will provide regular updates for the CTP Deputy & Senior National Coordinator and resilience to the CTP UC Operational Security advisor regarding the use and delivery of the capability’s covert infrastructure. They will provide governance of policy and uphold procedures that are in place for the lawful delivery of covert tactics. They will also lead and direct post-operational reviews following the deployment of technical equipment or enabling capabilities to understand and capture learning from the investigations, in order to improve and advance this sensitive area of business across the UCU network.
The post holder will be the National SPOC for tech and digital capabilities for UC in Counter Terrorism Policing, ensuring the Tech deployed is suitable for the operational activity. Working with UCIC partners horizon scanning against future threats and working with partners to establish suitable solutions / risk management. In addition, they will ensure the central tech data base is accurate and Tech is readily available for covert operational activity. The post holder will need strong negotiation, communication and relationship building skills to manage front line operational covert teams in order to make best use of available assets
