Job summary

Shaftesbury Independent Living in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a care worker to provide two-to-one support for a young man with complex needs. You will follow his support plan, assist with personal care and medication, and maintain detailed records. The role includes sleep-in shifts and occasional holidays.

Applicants must have PBS experience, a full UK driving licence with no endorsements, and be female, as per the service requirements. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience with PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) plans is required.
• Experience in complex care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support following individual plans and taking direction from the person supported.
• Provide two-to-one support to a young man with complex care needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and life experiences.
• Maintain accurate records in line with service requirements.
• Support with personal care and the administration of medication when required.
• Build positive and professional relationships with families and professionals.
• Create meaningful life experiences, including day trips using the person's car.
• Provide support on holidays.
• Cover sleep-in shifts.
