Job summary

South East Water is seeking an Inorganic Chemistry Analyst to join the Water Quality team. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with a 4pm–12am shift, based in Farnborough.

You will perform routine and non-routine trace analyses using state-of-the-art instrumentation, interpret data, manage workloads and assist implementing new methodologies. A minimum NVQ Level 3 or higher in a scientific subject is required, with encouragement to pursue professional membership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of good laboratory practice
• Degree in Chemistry or other scientific subject
• Willingness to work towards full membership of the professional body
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and laboratory skills

Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation in line with the Laboratory Management System
• Maintain and troubleshoot chromatographic, spectrophotometric, colorimetric, and preparatory equipment
• Analyse and interpret data, calculate results and complete laboratory paperwork
• Maintain daily logs and equipment record books
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System within set timeframes
• Ensure sample stability and turnaround times for analyses
• Prepare standards, reagents and Quality Control samples per internal procedures
