Job summary

South East Water is offering an entry-to-mid level chemistry laboratory role in our busy laboratories that provide water testing services for business, local authorities and private clients. You’ll support analysts, operate instrumentation, maintain equipment and ensure data is recorded accurately.

You will have a chemistry degree, strong numeracy and a desire to develop analytical techniques. The role is 37 hours per week, 8am–8pm, typically 12-8pm, with coaching for career progression.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or another closely related subject.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and robust laboratory practice.
• Desire to learn and progress in analytical chemistry within a busy lab.

Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation in accordance with the Management System.
• Assist with maintenance and operation of preparatory equipment.
• Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment records.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System within set timeframes.
• Report quality issues to senior staff and assist with reagents preparation.
