Job summary

SouthEast Water is seeking an Inorganic Chemistry Analyst to join the Water Quality team. You will prepare and perform routine and non-routine trace analysis using state-of-the-art analytics, interpret data, and manage workloads.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or above (or relevant academic qualification) in a scientific subject.
• Degree in Chemistry or another relevant scientific subject.
• Willingness to work towards full membership of the relevant professional body.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and laboratory skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation in line with the Laboratory Management system.
• Maintain and troubleshoot chromatographic, spectrophotometric, colorimetric and preparatory equipment.
• Analyse data, interpret results, and complete laboratory paperwork.
• Maintain daily logs and equipment record books.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System within set timeframes.
• Ensure sample stability and turnaround for analyses.
• Prepare standards, reagents and QC samples per internal procedures.
