Job summary

South East Water invites applications for a Chemistry Technician in Farnborough. You will support analysts, operate instrumentation, maintain prep equipment and ensure accurate data entry in the LIMS, contributing to high-quality water testing services.

You will have a chemistry degree or related subject, strong numeracy and literacy, and a drive to learn and progress within the company. The role offers 37 hours weekly, onsite in Farnborough, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or another closely related subject.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and skills to engage in robust laboratory practice.
• A desire to learn and put into practice what you’ve learnt.

Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation in accordance with the Management System.
• Assist with the maintenance and operation of preparatory equipment.
• Help to document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
• Ensure data is accurately entered into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Report quality issues to senior staff.
• Prepare reagents and AQC’s in line with internal procedures.
• Maintain good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times.
• Contribute to internal audits and ensure compliance with the management system.
