Job summary

Capita TV Licensing is seeking a Field Officer to support local communities in the Northampton area. You will visit customers at their homes, explain licensing options, and help them take the next steps with full training and the freedom of working independently.

The role offers a £31,650 annual salary, a company car (for work and personal use) or a £3,700 car allowance, mileage reimbursements, a flexible 36.5-hour week including evenings and weekends, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Live within the NN postcode area.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional and resilient in a variety of customer situations.
• Strong problem-solving and sound judgement.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when recording information.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices and applications.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Visiting residential addresses throughout the NN postcode area.
• Speaking with customers professionally and respectfully.
• Explaining TV Licensing requirements and available options.
• Setting up payment plans where appropriate.
• Recording visit outcomes accurately using mobile technology.
• Making informed decisions and working independently in the field.
• Occasionally attending court as part of the enforcement process.
