Job summary

Capita TV Licensing is hiring a Field Officer to support local communities in the Southend-on-Sea area. You will visit customers at home, discuss TV licence requirements, explain options and help them take the next steps, with full training and a comprehensive benefits package.

Role involves independent fieldwork, visiting addresses with no TV licence recorded, and documenting outcomes using mobile tech. A full UK driving licence and resilience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Live within SS14-SS16 postcode areas.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional and resilient with customers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when recording information.
• Confident working independently and managing workload.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices/apps.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Visit residential addresses in the SS14-SS16 area and discuss TV licensing requirements.
• Explain available licensing options and help customers take the next steps.
• Set up payment plans where appropriate and record visit outcomes accurately.
• Travel locally from home using company vehicle or own vehicle.
• Attend court when required as part of the enforcement process.
