Teaching Personnel Ltd's TP Tutors is seeking experienced 1:1 Tutors to support children across Corby and surrounding areas. You will provide personalised one-to-one tuition to learners who may need additional academic support, including SEND or SEMH needs, following the UK National Curriculum.

Roles include delivering engaging lessons, adapting to each learner, maintaining reports, and working with schools and Local Authorities.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE, or SEND settings is desirable.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Has Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

1:1 Tutor – Corby

Location: Corby and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, part-time, Monday to Friday, mainly school hours
Pay: Competitive, depending on the assignment and Local Authority

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across Corby and surrounding areas.

You will provide personalised tuition to learners who may need additional academic support, have difficulty accessing mainstream education, or have SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

You may work with learners at Primary, Secondary, or GCSE level, following the UK National Curriculum. Tuition may take place in homes, schools, community settings, or alternative education provisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised one-to-one lessons.
  • Follow the UK National Curriculum and individual learning targets.
  • Adapt lessons to suit each learner's needs, ability, interests, and learning style.
  • Support learners with SEND, SEMH needs, and EHCPs.
  • Use creative teaching methods to improve confidence, motivation, and engagement.
  • Encourage learners to become more independent.
  • Manage behaviour in a calm and positive way.
  • Monitor learner progress and identify areas for further support.
  • Complete clear and accurate reports after each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, parents, and carers.
  • Work with schools, Local Authorities, and other education professionals.
  • Create a safe, calm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

You should have:

  • At least 2 years of UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE, or SEND settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt your teaching.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.

QTS or another recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.

SEND Experience

Experience supporting learners with SEND or SEMH needs is an advantage. This may include experience with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexia
  • SEMH needs
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • EHCPs
  • Other additional learning needs

You should be confident adapting lessons and using different teaching strategies to support individual learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
