Job summary

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking experienced SEN 1:1 tutors to support pupils with SEND across Kettering and surrounding areas. Sessions occur during school hours in homes, schools or community settings, with flexible part-time or full-time opportunities.

The role requires at least two years of UK curriculum teaching, SEND experience, and a valid DBS; driving or travel between locations is expected. Competitive pay and CPD are provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' teaching experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to travel between locations.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of SEND needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons promoting progress, confidence and independence.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports after each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools and LA.

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is looking for dedicated SEN 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Desborough, Rothwell, Burton Latimer, Rushden, Thrapston, Market Harborough, and the surrounding areas.

Tuition takes place during school hours in pupils' homes, schools, or community settings, depending on each learner's individual needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require tailored educational provision due to SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, dyslexia, and other additional learning needs. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils build confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve meaningful academic progress.

Pay
  • Competitive hourly rate, based on experience, qualifications, pupil needs, and the tuition assignment.
Working Pattern
  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities.
  • Tuition delivered during school hours (Monday to Friday).
  • Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available.
  • Travel to pupils' homes, schools, or community venues across Kettering and the surrounding areas is required.
Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' teaching experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, behaviour management, and relationship-building skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, dyslexia, or other additional needs.
  • Experience delivering tuition within alternative provision, specialist settings, or pupils' homes.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Location

This role covers Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Desborough, Rothwell, Burton Latimer, Rushden, Thrapston, Market Harborough, and surrounding areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations within the local region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
