Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), considered one of the most modern in Europe; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), known for innovative technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis development and race operations.

The position is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany.

Your role involves working on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain in internal combustion engine development. You will aim to maximize engine performance and efficiency, focusing on combustion processes, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. Your tasks include development measures during the concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  • Develop combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations.
  • Conduct thermodynamic development of engine gas-exchange, combustion phases, and flow simulations of intake and exhaust systems.
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with proper reporting.
  • Correlate simulation data with measurement data from engine operation and test benches.
  • Improve processes, workflows, and toolchains for simulation and test data correlation.
Your Profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics, or related fields (bachelor's, master's, Diplom, or Dr.-Ing.).
  • Several years of professional experience in internal combustion engine development with 3D CFD simulation.
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains.
  • Experience handling data from test benches.
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Independent and precise working practices.
  • Proficiency in German or English, with willingness to learn the other language.
