Job Description:

Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis and race operations.

Role Overview: In internal combustion engine development, you will work on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain. Your goal is to optimize engine performance and efficiency, focusing on combustion processes, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. You will be involved in development from concept through testing phases.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop combustion processes and gas exchange via 3D CFD simulations
  • Conduct thermodynamic development of engine gas exchange, combustion phases, and flow simulations of intake & exhaust systems
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with detailed reports
  • Correlate simulation data with measurements from engine tests and test benches
  • Improve workflows and toolchains for simulation and data correlation
Your Profile:
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics, or related fields
  • Several years of experience in internal combustion engine development and 3D CFD simulation
  • Strong knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains
  • Experience with test bench data handling
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and responsibility
  • Independent, precise working style
  • Proficiency in German or English; willingness to learn the other language
