Search Consultancy LTD is seeking an experienced Tunnelling Site Manager for a major underground project in the Midlands, with night shifts and immediate start. £400+ per shift plus digs/accommodation is offered.

You will lead night-shift crews, coordinate subcontractors, manage RAMS and site procedures, and ensure safe, productive work in line with the programme. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced tunnelling professional.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Shift Manager or Tunnelling Manager on underground projects.
• Experience leading night shifts and large site teams.
• Strong knowledge of tunnelling methods and underground construction.
• Excellent health and safety knowledge, RAMS and site compliance.

• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Monitor production, progress and productivity against shift targets.

• Manage incidents, emergencies and site issues at night.
• Complete accurate shift reports and production documentation.
• Work with Project Manager, Construction Manager, engineers and client representatives.

We are currently looking for an experienced Tunnelling Site Manager to join a major underground construction project in the Midlands, working on a night shift basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tunnelling professional looking for an immediate start, offering £400+ per shift, accommodation provided and an enhanced rate for night work.

The Role

• Managing and coordinating all night-shift tunnelling activities.
• Leading site supervisors, engineers, operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the project programme.
• Monitoring production, progress and productivity against shift targets.
• Coordinating plant, equipment, materials and labour requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits, site procedures and relevant tunnelling regulations.
• Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and shift briefings.
• Managing shift handovers and communicating progress and issues to the day team and senior management.
• Identifying and resolving operational issues and coordinating corrective actions.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Managing incidents, emergencies and site issues during the night shift.
• Completing accurate shift reports, records and production documentation.
• Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Engineers and client representatives.

About You

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Shift Manager or Tunnelling Manager within underground construction.
• Strong experience working on tunnelling, shafts, underground construction or major civil engineering projects.
• Previous experience managing night shifts and large site teams.
• Strong understanding of tunnelling methods, construction processes and underground working environments.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety, RAMS and site compliance.
• Proven ability to manage production, resources and programme targets.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues in a challenging underground environment.
• Previous tunnelling or underground construction experience is essential.
