Job summary

Collas Crill LLP in Guernsey is seeking a Trust Officer to deliver high‑level client service and maintain strong relationships with clients and their advisers.

You will manage day‑to‑day administration for a portfolio of trust and corporate entities, liaise with banks and asset managers, and ensure regulatory compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in financial or fiduciary services.
  • Educated to at least A level or equivalent; STEP qualification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly liaise with clients and advisers to maintain clear communication and timely reporting.
  • Perform day-to-day administration for a portfolio of trust & corporate entities.
  • Ensure requests are actioned promptly with full documentation and updated records.
  • Liaise with banks, investment managers and asset managers to manage client assets and reporting.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and complete administrative tasks.
  • Record tasks on timesheets to maximise recoverability of fees.
  • Contribute to the team’s efficiency and uphold the firm’s good name.

Description

Collas Crill Trust is an independent provider of trust and corporate solutions to private clients and institutions. The very experienced team specialises in delivering solutions to complex problems throughout the life cycle of wealth creation, preservation and succession.

The team are recruiting for a Trust Officer, who will provide the highest level of service to clients and their advisers by developing and maintaining excellent relationships through proactively meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly liaise with clients and their advisers to ensure good lines of communication are maintained, clients' expectations are met and reports and other information are duly provided in a professional and timely manner;
  • Perform day to day administrative tasks on a portfolio of trust corporate client entities;
  • Ensure client/internal requests are actioned in a prompt and professional manner, ensure that full supporting documentation is prepared and filed and that client accounting and other records are updated accordingly;
  • Liaise with 3rd party banks, investment and other asset managers/agents to ensure client assets are properly managed and reported and that reviews and reconciliations are carried out at regular intervals;
  • Perform periodic reviews of client entities and ensure all regulatory requirements are complied with as well as ensuring all administrative tasks are duly completed;
  • Ensure all tasks undertaken are accurately recorded on timesheets to ensure maximum recoverability of fees;
  • Achieve set efficiency;
  • Ensure debtors are cleared in accordance with agreed targets;
  • Be a valued member of the team and take responsibility for the protection and promotion of the good name and reputation of CCT and Collas Crill.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The successful candidate will have ideally been educated to at least A level (or equivalent). They will have at 2-3 years' experience in financial or fiduciary services.

Key skills and abilities that we are looking for candidates to demonstrate include:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Confident when dealing with high value clients and professionals by telephone, in correspondence and face to face on routine matters;
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve fixed deadlines and to be willing and able to make the right decisions whilst knowing when to seek assistance;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • The ability to work as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • An understanding of relevant anti-money laundering legislation;

We are ideally seeking a candidate with:

  • Knowledge of Fiduciary Services software. "Acumen" knowledge useful but not mandatory – training will be provided where necessary;
  • Trust company experience, including the management of a varied portfolio of client entities;
  • Knowledge of other structuring vehicles eg. Limited Partnerships, Foundations, PTCs;
  • Good systems knowledge:
    • Acumen or similar;
    • A document management system; and
    • Excel
  • STEP qualified or part qualified.
