Your new job working as a Treaty Broker handling LATAM business will be working for an established global Lloyd's Brokers who employ over 700 employees around the world and have a presence in more than 150 countries. Due to expansion within the Reinsurance team, a permanent role has arisen for a Treaty Broker or Facultative Broker who can speak fluent Spanish. This role requires fluency in Spanish.
As a Treaty Broker, you will work directly with the LATAM Producer, placing Treaty Marine and Non-Marine risks. The role requires fluency in Spanish. Your responsibilities include presenting, broking, and negotiating on behalf of the Treaty division to Lloyd’s, London, and global re/insurance markets, either face-to-face or via email and phone.
You will provide efficient service to your clients, focusing on the LATAM and Spanish-speaking client base, as well as to underwriters. Duties include liaising with the market and underwriters, mainly on reinsurance business, negotiating the best terms, and handling new and renewal business, mid-term amendments, and general inquiries professionally. You will also develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, underwriters, and brokers.
Additional duties include undertaking administrative broking roles, assisting in the production of placement information and documentation, record keeping, and file management. Occasionally, you will support the production of MRC slips and endorsements and prepare technical handover documents for processing and accounting.
Successful candidates will have previous experience as a Placing Broker handling Facultative or Treaty reinsurance business and must be fluent in Spanish. A strong understanding of the insurance/reinsurance markets, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and technical knowledge of policy forms, slips, and endorsements are essential. You should be a team player capable of working independently, proficient in PPL/WhiteSpace platforms, Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, and possess Cat Modelling knowledge. Ideally, you will be CII qualified or studying towards it. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
