Responsibilities
  1. Receive payments, record receipts, and reconcile accounts;
  2. Provide excellent customer service to customers and citizens;
  3. Process and reconcile electronic payments;
  4. Communicate with the public via phone, e-mail, fax, and in-person;
  5. Count and verify cash and check transactions, and balance cash drawer daily;
  6. Assist with reconciliation of bank statements and bank activity;
  7. Process collections actions on delinquent accounts, including DMV stops, lien preparation, and the Virginia Debt Set Off Program;
  8. Research returned mail for updated addresses;
  9. Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail;
  10. Manage night drop box transactions;
  11. Assist in administering the Commonwealth of Virginia FUEL Assistance, Cooling Assistance, and Crisis Assistance Programs;
  12. Collect and process tax return forms and payments for Meals Tax and Transient Occupancy Tax;
  13. Assist in balancing landfill entries for billing;
  14. Receive and process EDI payments;
  15. Process cut-off lists for the Electric Department and assist with customer collections;
  16. Post penalty fees on electric accounts as needed;
  17. Prepare bank deposits and deliver to banking institutions as directed;
  18. Serve as backup for handling customer requests as needed;
  19. Assist with office administrative tasks;
  20. Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications

Candidates may have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Prior experience with local government revenue administration and/or graduation from an accredited college or university with coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
