Overview:

As a Patient Access Representative with Sentara, you will work in Patient Registration for the Emergency Department and other hospital registration areas. Your primary duties include positively identifying patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and admitting patients. This role involves collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical staff. Opportunities for advancement include positions such as Patient Access Rep II/III, Team Leader, and Team Coordinator. Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

No specific certification or licensure required

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience
  • Alternatively, an associate or bachelor’s degree can substitute for two years of experience
  • Proficiency in keyboarding
