Job summary

Academics is recruiting for roles across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under Lyme to support children and young people with SEMH needs. The role combines classroom assistance with pastoral youth support, helping pupils engage and thrive.

You will work with students who have experienced trauma and mental health challenges, using effective communication and resilience to promote positive interactions and learning inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, autism, ADHD or other needs.
• Excellent communication skills to engage students.
• Promote happiness, self-reliance and positive interactions.
• Emotional resilience and determination to support children's thriving.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils who have experienced trauma, mental health and emotional needs.
• Assist in classroom teaching and classroom management.
• Provide pastoral youth support and help manage behaviours.
