Job summary

Stonepillow is seeking a day support worker to join our young people services team. You will work with 16+ looked-after young people and care leavers in West Sussex, applying a trauma-informed approach and kindness to help them build a positive future.

You will manage your own caseload, complete risk assessments, ensure the young people's voice is heard in case management, and support referrals. The role requires safeguarding, whistleblowing, health and safety, and welfare checks.

Qualifications

• Kind, patient approach with young people
• Good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of people using active listening

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to 16+ looked-after young people and care leavers
• Maintain caseloads and produce risk assessments
• Ensure the voice of the young people is heard in all case management steps and with partners
• Support team in referrals and welfare checks
• Carry out welfare and house environment checks
• Model trauma-informed practice and unconditional positive regard
