Job summary

Stonepillow is seeking a Day Support Worker to help homeless young people in the Arun/Chichester area. You will work within a trauma-informed framework to promote rights, safety and independence for 16+ Looked After Young People and Care Leavers.

You will manage caseloads, conduct risk assessments, and ensure safeguarding and health & safety compliance. This role involves lone working and a commitment to empowering young people toward positive futures.

Qualifications

• Kind and ‘never give up’ attitude to support YP in achieving positive futures.
• Able to work in challenging situations.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Confidentiality.
• Ability to motivate and inspire Young People (YP) to make positive life changes.
• Excellent communication with a wide range of people using active listening to build constructive relationships.
• Ability to update paper and computerised systems and ensure records are complete.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in a person-centred way.
• Manage own caseload and produce individual support and risk assessments with input from young people.
• Ensure the voice of the YP is heard in case management and communicated to partners.
• Support line manager with detailed case file audits and safeguarding actions.
• Facilitate quarterly case reviews with the YP, line manager and professionals.
• Coordinate referrals and manage life skills work towards independence.
• Role model inclusive, trauma-informed practice in all interactions.
