Job summary

BCHA is recruiting Support Workers to assist young people in Dorset (ages 18-24) on their journey to independence. The role focuses on developing independent living skills, navigating benefits, and building confidence through personalized, empathetic support.

You will work in a team across a daily rota, supporting clients with mental health and wellbeing, safeguarding, and access to community resources. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • No prior sector experience required (as per ad).
  • DBS checks are required for roles involving vulnerable groups.
  • Safeguarding, first aid and health and safety training are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate meaningful engagement to help individuals achieve personal goals.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver consistent, high-quality support.
  • Create opportunities to connect with external agencies.
  • Manage emergencies with support from colleagues including on-call manager.
  • Use initiative to develop creative solutions tailored to individual needs.
  • Deliver innovative approaches prioritising life skills and personal development for clients.
