Job summary

Veterans Regroup CIC is seeking a trauma‑informed, person‑centred Caseworker to support veterans and the wider Armed Forces Community across Cornwall. Based at the Truro VALOUR Hub, you will deliver high-quality casework across welfare benefits, housing, finances and health, via face-to-face, telephone and outreach clinics.

You will create supportive, inclusive experiences, complete risk assessments, develop personalised plans and coordinate referrals with partners, enabling access to the right

Qualifications

• Recent experience in casework, welfare support, advice, advocacy or similar.
• Experience supporting people with multiple needs, trauma or barriers to engagement.
• Collaborative working with statutory, health, military or community partners.
• Excellent communication, listening and assessment skills.
• Willingness to undertake a DBS check and required training.
• Access to suitable transport for travel across Cornwall (and occasional Plymouth).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred information, advice, advocacy and practical support.
• Complete registration, risk checks and structured assessments.
• Develop clear support plans and promote independence and informed choice.
• Make timely, consent-based referrals and warm handovers.
• Build strong relationships with statutory services, Armed Forces organisations, charities and community partners.
• Deliver support through appointments, outreach clinics, digital channels and community events.
• Maintain accurate case records in CharityLog and contribute to monitoring and reporting.
• Support safe daily operations of the Truro VALOUR Hub.
• Participate in induction, training, supervision and reflective practice.
• Contribute to multi-agency Armed Forces Hubs and wider organisational activities.
