Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant (12 Month Fixed Term) to work across our classrooms supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other SEND. The role requires resilience, flexibility and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach, with duties spanning 1:1 support, small groups, resource management and safeguarding.

You'll wear many hats: supporting teachers, facilitating sessions, and helping create a safe, engaging learning environment

Qualifications

• DBS check required or willing to obtain
• Experience with SEMH/SEND desirable
• Ability to engage and support diverse learners

Responsibilities

• supporting teachers in the classroom
• working with children 1:1 or in small groups
• managing classroom resources
• taking children on trips and visits
• sharing lunch with children who need social support
• managing heightened behaviour and keeping children safe
• playing board games and activities
• celebrating student success
• participating in therapy sessions or reflective practice
